Officers
Rickey Paul Ward
President / Executive Committee Chair
Justice Administration Major
Junior
Organizations: Student Government Association, Community Counseling Student Association
Hobbies: Reading, writing, collecting, story telling, drawing, watching movies, and many more things that I generally don't have time for but do any way.
Goals: My primary goal Is to let students know they have a voice, "say so", or whatever you would like to call it in their acadimic lives. I believe that if there is a problem and you can fix it, then you should. I hope to provide that to the student body.
Sara Shepard-Wallace
Vice President / Student Action Committee Chair
Corporate Communications Major
Junior
Organizations: Student Government Association, Student Broadcast Association
Hobbies: Creating & Exploring
Goals: To employ, not be employed. I joined SGA to be a part of something important. I participate in SGA to learn how government works. I am a leader in SGA so that I can better enable myself and my fellow students to be a strong voice on campus.
Lindsey Martin
Secretary / Logistics Committee Chair
Political Science Major
Junior
Organizations: Student Government Association, Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature, RSU Honors Program, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Healthy Community Partnership, Rogers County Literacy Council, Student Newspaper Organization
Hobbies: Music, tennis, reading, volunteering, participating in student organization activities, church, meeting up with friends
Goals: My goal is to find a career pertaining to something with government. I find the state legislature interesting, the courts, and practicing law. Whatever I do, I want to be helping people and making a difference in their lives.
In SGA, I want to help with anything that I possibly can and reach out to students who have concerns about things in their classes and on campus. Being a part of SGA is something special! Everyone, even when there are disagreements, usually wants to work for the greater good of the student body and the University as a whole.
Philip Jackson
Parliamentarian / Governing Operations Committee Chair
Public Administration Major
Junior
Organizations: Rogers State University Student Government Association, Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature (O.I.L.),
Hobbies: Music, Instructor for the American Bushido-Kia Karate Association, reading, everything government
Goals: My goals in the RSU SGA are to make student life more vibrant and get people excited about government. "Government" can be an intimidating word but it is simply the order in which we organize our lives. I want to share my love for due process and hopefully empower the next generation. I hope to leave RSU in better shape than I found it and along the way grow as an individual and a leader. I got involved in SGA because I wanted to make a difference beyond the classroom. I hope to continue to graduate school and become involved in our state government.
Brandi Green
Public Relations Director
Corporate Communications Major
Graphic Design Minor
Sophomore
Organizations: Student Government Association, Honors Program
Hobbies: Reading, running, piano, hanging out with friends, attempting to paint, listening to music
Goals: Because making sure the students' ideas are heard and acted upon is such a vital aspect in running the government, I want to make sure that there is a definitive link between the students and SGA. My goal is to make sure this link is strong so that SGA can help make this campus a place what we all want it to be, not just a few select people. I hope to be the liaison between the two so that we can make the students' ideas a reality by working together. I also want to show that student government is not some intimidating or threatening entity; it is really simply a group of students just like you who are trying to make a difference by implementing ideas that will make this campus an even greater place to learn, work, and/or live. |
