NEWSJune 11, 2010 RSU Names Coordinator of Student Activities
Brown recently began her duties in the Office of Student Affairs in the Centennial Center on the RSU campus in Claremore. As coordinator of student activities, she will coordinate all student activity programs at RSU, manage new student orientation programs and serve as adviser to several student organizations, including the Student Government Association and Campus Activities Team. She also will manage and work to expand the Greek Life system at RSU and provide supervision to the cheerleading coach. Brown has extensive experience in coordinating new student programming, serving as coordinator of Welcome Week at Oklahoma State University, and as an intern for the vice president of student affairs at OSU. She also served as a graduate research assistant in educational studies and a statistics instructor at OSU. In addition, she was an adjunct instructor in statistics and mathematics at Northern Oklahoma College and co-instructor in higher education administration at OSU. Her research includes access and success of first-generation and low-income college students, adjusting to college culturally, and service learning and community service on college campuses. She is working toward a doctoral degree in educational leadership/higher education at OSU, received a master of science in educational leadership/higher education at OSU, and earned a bachelor of science in statistics from the University of Florida. She also has completed coursework at Eastern Washington University and the University of Texas at Dallas. |
Lynn Brown has been named coordinator of student activities at Rogers State University.
