Quick Facts

These are the only technology business incubators in Northeast Oklahoma
80% of businesses that graduate from incubators are successful and still in business five years after graduation

What is a Business Incubator?

An incubator is a program that provides start-up or early phase companies with an environment and variety of services to help them grow more quickly and more successfully.

Business incubation provides entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services. These services are usually developed or orchestrated by incubator management and offered both in the business incubator and through its network of contacts. A business incubator’s main goal is to produce successful firms that will leave the program financially viable and freestanding. These incubator graduates have the potential to create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, commercialize new technologies, and strengthen local and national economies.

Critical to the definition of an incubator is the provision of management guidance, technical assistance and consulting tailored to young growing companies. Incubators usually also provide clients access to appropriate rental space and flexible leases, shared basic business services and equipment, technology support services and assistance in obtaining the financing necessary for company growth.

Incubator Focus

The incubator program provides support and mentoring for new companies, especially those that focus on information technology, biosciences, and environmental conservation sectors. By building upon RSU’s areas of academic strengths, incubator clients will be better able to fully utilize the university’s academic resources to grow their enterprise.

Facilities and Services for Resident Clients

Innovation Center clients have their own dedicated workspace that can be arranged to fit individual needs. In addition, clients can share space and administrative services in the incubation facilities. Participants have access to a full menu of customized business and technological advice and assistance geared toward the special needs of each individual firm.

Non-Resident Incubator Clients

The Innovation Center offers options for non-resident clients to take advantage of some of the center’s facilities and services. Clients who seek shared space and occasional use of conference facilities can become non-resident incubator clients. Should this be included below ‘as is’ or as a link for more details?
