More About Dr. Brown

Dr. Brown joined RSU in 1999 as Executive Vice President and Vice President for Academic Affairs. In 2002, he started the Center for Economic and Community Development, which was renamed the Innovation Center in 2005. Brown has a Ph.D. in Sociology from Brown University with a specialization in demography and economic development. Dr. Brown has over twenty-five years of executive experience in higher education and extensive experience in economic and social research. Brown serves on the board of directors for Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority (CIEDA), City of Claremore Redevelopment Trust Authority, Claremore Regional Airport, and Northeast Oklahoma Workforce Investment Board.

Jeri joined the Innovation Center in July 2005. Before joining, Jeri was co-owner of two retail businesses (Claremore and Pryor). She has extensive experience in business development, marketing, management and finance. Her responsibilities include consulting with Innovation Center clients and managing the Entrepreneur Development Program. Jeri received her Masters in Business Administration from Cameron University and her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Rogers State University. In addition to her responsibilities at the Innovation Center Jeri teaches entrepreneurship for the RSU School of Business and serves on the board of directors for Claremore Main Street, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the RSU Alumni Association. She lives in Claremore with her husband and two children.

Lynn joined the Innovation Center in February 2004, after 4 years of operating a restaurant business.  She has extensive experience in marketing, entrepreneurship, management, special event managment and tourism. Lynn's primary responsibilities includes developing training and workshops for the Innovation Center as well as businesses in the community. Lynn received her Bachelors in Business Administration from Northeastern State University and her MBA and Professional Certification in Entrepreneurship. In addition to her work at the Innovation Center Lynn teaches marketing for the RSU School of Business and serves as a SCORE counselor, board member for Leadership Rogers County and is a founding member of the Rogers County Young Professionals Organization. She lives in Claremore with her husband and two sons.

 

Marcus ArreguinMarcus Arreguin

Marcus joined the Innovation Center in 2011. Prior to that, he performed Geographic Information Systems (GIS) work at his business and for the U. S. Forest Service. He has experience in GIS analysis, research, graphic design, photography, marketing, and business operations. His main responsibilities include GIS mapping and analysis, market research, and design and production of publications. Marcus received his Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in Spatial Analysis in the fields of geography, mathematics, and statistics from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Geography from Stephen F. Austin and has coursework in computer science and programming. In addition to his work at the Innovation Center, Marcus is involved with a local fraternal group and other non-profit organizations.
