  1. Privacy of Student Records
    As a Rogers State University student, you are required to give certain information in order that the University may make reasonable judgments about you, provide services, and give informed advice regarding courses to be followed.  Such personal data and information may become part of your University student educational record.  You may make the justifiable assumption that the University, as custodian of this data, will preserve the data’s private nature.  By requiring or requesting such information, the University gives assurance that the information will be protected against improper disclosure and only those within the institution who have a legitimate need-to-know will have access to this information.
  2. Facilities and Services for Students with Disabilities
    Rogers State University is committed to the goal of achieving equal educational opportunity and full participation for students with disabilities outlined by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, which prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability. 
  3. Student Diversity
    The University, in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, political beliefs, disability, or status as a veteran in any of its policies, practices, or procedures.  This includes but is not limited to admissions, employment, financial aid, and education services.
  4. Admissions, Enrollment and Price of Attendance
    1. Admissions: The admission policies of RSU conform to the performance and curricular requirements established by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and are consistent with the mission of the University.  Requirements for admission to RSU are subject to change without prior notice. For specific information about admission requirements for programs requiring a secondary admission, e.g. nursing, please contact them directly.
    2. Enrollment Policy: You are encouraged to maintain the same number of credits throughout the semester. In the event that you must reduce your credit load, the University has established a refund time table for tuition and fees.
    3. Billing and Payment: You are notified in your University e-mail account when your billing statement is available online. You must pay the balance in full by the due date. Use the University’s online FACTS for a convenient, secure payment. You must make at least a minimum payment by the due date and assume installment plan charges that will be added to your amount due. If you fail to make a payment, late payment fees will be added to your account and a hold placed on your records. With a hold in place, you will not be able to register for courses at the University until the bill is paid in full.

  14. Student Conduct
    All students at the University are bound by the Student Conduct Code.  It is the policy of Rogers State University that certain minimum standards of conduct are necessary to safeguard the rights, opportunities, and welfare of students, faculty, staff, and guests of the University community, and to assure protection of the interests of the University as it seeks to carry out its mission.  The University requires a community free from violence, threats, and intimidation; protective of free inquiry; respectful of the rights of others; open to change; supportive of democratic and lawful procedures; and dedicated to a rational and orderly approach to the resolution of conflict.

    2. Federal Student Financial Aid Penalties for Drug Law Violations
      • The Higher Education Act of 1965 as amended (HEA) suspends aid eligibility for students who have been convicted under federal or state law of the sale or possession of drugs, if the offense occurred during a period of enrollment for which the student was receiving federal student aid (grants, loans, and/or work-study).  If you have a conviction(s) for these offenses, call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) or go to the FAFSA on the WebSM site, click on "Before Beginning A FAFSA" in the left column, then click on "Student Aid Eligibility Worksheet" to find out how this law applies to you.  For further information, refer to the following website:http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/aideligibility.jsp.

    Rights and Responsibilities of Aid Recipients
    1. Rights
      • To be informed about financial aid application procedures, cost of attendance, aid available and renewal requirements.
      • To have confidential protection of your financial aid records.  The contents of your financial aid file are maintained in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
      • To appeal decisions made by the financial aid staff at Rogers State University.  A written appeal must be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid.
    2. Responsibilities
      • To complete applications correctly and on time.
      • To read and understand all materials sent to you from the Office of Financial Aid and other financial aid agencies.
      • To keep copies of all forms and materials submitted.
      • To comply with the rules governing your aid programs.
      • To comply with the provisions of any promissory note and all other agreements you sign.
      • To enroll for the number of credit hours required and maintain satisfactory academic progress.
      • To request personal assistance if you have questions or don't understand the information provided to you.

    4. Cost of Attendance
      The cost of attendance (COA) at Rogers State University includes, but is not limited to tuition, fees, room (residence halls/apartments) and board (meal plans/groceries), books, and miscellaneous expenses.
    5. Code of Conduct for Education Loans
      Financial aid satisfactory academic progress (SAP) and your academic performance are reviewed to ensure that you are making progress toward graduation. Your financial aid eligibility is based on standards that are established, published, and applied by the Office of Student Finance (OSF), as required by the U. S. Department of Education.
    6. Exit Counseling for Student Borrowers (Return of financial aid after withdrawal)
      Be aware that changes in your enrollment may require you to return all or a portion of the financial aid disbursed to you.  If you received a credit balance check or direct deposit earlier in the semester, you may be required to return a portion of those funds to the financial aid programs from which the aid was received.  This portion represents funds that were intended to pay education-related expenses through the end of the semester.  The amount to be returned to the University will be calculated from the date on which you officially withdrew.

    Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program
    1. Prevention of Alcohol Abuse and Drug Use on Campus and in the Workplace Policy
    2. Availability of Assistance and Education Programs
      • Student Counseling Services: Provides counseling to students with substance abuse issues and to help students cope with problems stemming from alcohol or drug abuse by a family member(s) and friend(s). Students needing in-patient treatment or detoxification for substance dependence will be referred to appropriate community resources. Student Counseling Services is available through Student Affairs.
      • Residence Halls Staff: Provide advice and referral for counseling.
      • Student Health Center: Provide counseling, and referral to appropriate on‐campus and off‐campus agencies which includes medical treatment.
      • Alcohol/Other Drug Assistance Programs
        Numerous programs are available in the Rogers County area to help RSU students and employees deal with substance abuse related issues. Federal laws insure all persons seeking help for alcohol and/or other drug problems will be treated with respect and in a confidential manner.  Some contacts are:

  20. Voter Registration
    Voter registration forms may be obtained in the Office of Student Affairs year round. A voter registration drive, housed in the Centennial Center, is conducted annually. The drive typically begins during second week of the fall semester and continues until the Constitution Day celebration on September 17.
