Full Accreditation for the School of Education Program

On July 19, 2017, the Oklahoma Commission for Educational Quality and Accountability voted to give full unit accreditation to Randall University School of Education for the first time in history. This accreditation includes both elementary education and secondary social studies programs and now extends for five additional years.

“It has been a long journey” stated Dr. Deborah White, Chair of the School of Education. Randall University began to pursue accreditation several years ago and had their first site visit in 2015 which gave the University accreditation, but with conditions to meet in 2017.  These conditions were not only met, but RU School of Education scored a perfect score.

The Office of Educational Quality and Accountability along with the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) have developed an exemplary system for the approval and accreditation of educator preparation institutions and programs based on both national and state standards.

Congratulations to the RU Teacher Education Committee which includes: Dr. Brent Sykes, Director of Social Studies Education, Julie Curry, Director of Elementary Education, Carla Krueger, Field Coordinator, and Dr. Deborah White, School of Education Chair.
