Mathematics Minor

The Mathematics minor is designed to give students with an aptitude in mathematics a sound mathematics foundation for use in strengthening his/her chosen field of study. The program will also prepare students for further studies in mathematical or scientific fields.

Required Courses:

Choose one of the following:

  • Found Geometry/Measurement (MATH 1533) - 3 hrs* 
  • Applied Calc for Bus, Life & Social Sci (MATH 2703) - 3 hrs* 

The following courses are required:

  • Trigonometry (MATH 1613) - 3 hrs*
  • Calculus I (MATH 1714) - 4 hrs*
  • Calculus II (MATH 2724) - 4 hrs*
  • Statistics (STAT 3003) - 3 hrs*

Choose 3 hrs from the following:

Special Topics (MATH 4903) - 3 hrs*

Linear Algebra (MATH 3013) - 3 hrs*

Elementary Number Theory (MATH 3123) - 3 hrs*

Technology and Media in Mathematics (MATH 3601) - 3 hrs*

Modern Algebra (MATH 4023) - 3 hrs*
