Regalia
(cap, gown, tassels, etc)
- Arrive at the Expo dressed in your regalia
- Associate gowns are silver
- Bachelor gowns are black
- Caps should be worn so the mortarboard is level, not tilted back or to the side
- Women may want to secure their caps with bobby pins
- Tassels are to be worn on the front and right side of the cap at all times
Line-up
- Arrive no later than 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony
- Line up by tassel color
- School of Business – Drab tassel
- School of Liberal Arts – White tassel
- School of Mathematics, Science, & Health Sciences – Gold tassel
Dress Code
- Men should wear dark slacks, dress shoes, and an appropriate shirt under their gown
- Women should wear dark slacks or a skirt, dress shoes, and an appropriate shirt or an appropriate dress under their gown
- Arrive at the Expo dressed in your graduation regalia
Special Needs

Seating
- Graduates will walk in together during the processional and sit in chairs on the floor
- Ushers will guide graduates to the correct row
- No chairs should be left empty
- Family and friends are asked to sit in the side seating
- Floor seating will be available for those with special needs
Photos
- RSU has made arrangements for a professional photographer to take pictures of each graduate during the ceremony and photos will be available for purchase.
- Family and friends are welcome to take candid photos, however, we request they remain in their seats out of respect for others in attendance.
DVD
- RSU Public Television will record the ceremony in its entirety
- DVDs will be available for purchase for $20.00

Diploma
- Diplomas are mailed to graduates within 8-10 weeks of the commencement ceremony
- To ensure you receive your diploma, make sure all holds have been cleared from your account
- Holds may be for transcripts, immunizations, bursar, library, etc.
- If you do not receive your diploma by the end of the 10-week period, contact the Office of Enrollment Management
