Program Description
A Matter of Degrees
RSU offers several degree and certificate programs for students who wish to explore the emergency medical services field.
All of RSU’s degree programs in emergency medical services feature a curriculum well beyond the minimum requirements of licensing agencies.
Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) -
Emergency Medical Services
The A.A.S. in Emergency Medical Services provides the medical background – both in the classroom and in a clinical setting – that our students require when entering their profession. This degree incorporates additional clinical time in leadership activities. The A.A.S. degree supplies graduates with a well-rounded general education to build their professional career. In addition, the degree provides the framework needed should students decide to advance their education toward a bachelor's degree or beyond.
Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) -
Bridge NREMT-Paramedic/LPN to RN
This unique degree program provides students who have already earned standing as a NREMT-Paramedic or a Licensed Practical Nurse to make the transition to a Registered Nurse. The program combines a general education foundation with specific nursing courses to help tackle the demands facing today’s nursing professionals.
The Educational Foundation
Having only a one-dimensional education is not sufficient for today’s fast-paced professional environment. RSU’s curriculum provides students with a comprehensive education to strengthen their analytical, comprehension, and communication skills.
Our program emphasizes these proficiencies to develop students into working professionals who positively impact their community. In addition, students pursuing an associate’s degree receive a solid educational foundation with classes in English, biology, history, political science, and psychology helping them to become more well-rounded professionals.
