Writing CenterAt the Rogers State University Writing Center we believe that students in all stages of writing can benefit from advice and feedback and we will do our best to answer questions concerning all things writing. The RSU Writing Center is intended as a quiet place for the development and improvement of written work. This includes papers written as assignments for classes and professional or creative projects. Students using this center are welcome to get tutoring help, write and print papers, and to utilize writing resources. If you're an off-campus visitor, don't worry. With our online tutoring you can send us a draft along with your questions and we'll do our best to reply with relevant and helpful feedback. General Writing GuidelinesIn these pages we've tried to develop a broad source of writing information for you: from understanding the writing process, to identifying sentence-level grammar and punctuation errors, to developing your own writing style and voice. If you aren't able to find what you're looking for check out our Writing Resources page for links to additional online writing centers, or send us an email and we'll do our best to help you out.
Common Writing AssignmentsHere we've compiled some of the types of writing assignments and concepts that we help students with the most. We have a simple explanation of what each assignment can involve and some hints for writing it. These pages are not intended to define these types of writing, or to imply that all writing assignments fall into these categories. Remember, these assignments can mean different things in different circumstances, so use this information to help you understand the basic concepts behind the writing and go from there.
